The first 10 hours with a Stark VARG

At handover

Confirm the controls, charging equipment, account access, documents and model-specific functions with the dealer. Record the starting hours and software details, then perform the normal external safety inspection. A new off-road motorcycle still deserves a proper check before its first ride.

After each ride

Clean and inspect the bike, lubricate the chain and bleed the fully extended fork using the owner-level manual method. Look for impact damage, leakage, wear and loose external parts while the terrain and any hard hits are still fresh in your mind.

At 5 riding hours

The VARG EX manual schedules the break-in gear-oil change at 5 riding hours. Arrange it before the counter reaches that point, record the date and hours, and use the official procedure only where the task label and your competence permit. Workshop-labelled powertrain or electrical work belongs with a qualified technician.

Optional work at 5–10 hours

Sebastian Borowski of Shock Suspension recommends a conservative first suspension service at 5–10 hours, particularly for the fork. Race pace, hard enduro, repeated jumps, mud and frequent washing favour the earlier end; this remains independent workshop advice rather than a Stark requirement.

You can retain Stark’s schedule, which specifies fork oil at 15 riding hours or 12 months, then fork and shock service plus gear oil at 40 riding hours or 12 months. Leakage, play, metallic noise, obvious stiction or a sudden damping change calls for immediate inspection.
