Make the handover count
Before the first ride, confirm the controls, charging equipment, account access, documentation and model-specific functions with the dealer. Record the starting hours and software details. A new off-road motorcycle still deserves a proper external safety inspection.
After every ride, the manual calls for cleaning, inspection, chain lubrication and bleeding the fully extended fork. Follow the owner-level manual method. Cleaning is also your chance to find damage, leakage, wear or loose external parts before they affect the next ride.
Book the 5-hour task early
The VARG EX manual schedules the break-in gear-oil change at 5 riding hours. It is the first specific hour-based drivetrain-fluid checkpoint, and a long riding day can take you past it quickly. Plan it before the counter arrives.
Use the official procedure where the task and your competence allow, or arrange qualified service. Workshop-labelled work belongs with a qualified technician, particularly where the powertrain or electrical systems are concerned. This guide does not replace repair instructions.
Keep independent suspension advice separate
Sebastian Borowski of Shock Suspension recommends a conservative first suspension service at 5–10 hours, especially for the fork. You may decide that suits your use, but it remains independent workshop advice. It is not Stark’s interval or a Stark warranty requirement.
Stark’s own schedule specifies fork oil at 15 riding hours or 12 months, then fork plus shock service at 40 riding hours or 12 months. Discussing an earlier service is reasonable; confusing the two sources is not.
Give your future service adviser exact information
Log hours, dates, terrain, cleaning, chain care, fork bleeding and observations after each ride. Record the 5-hour gear-oil task and any chosen suspension work, including who completed it and which recommendation you followed.
Set reminders for 15 riding hours or 12 months and 40 riding hours or 12 months, as applicable to each task. Exact dates and documented work make a Bajamoto service discussion far more useful than an approximate recollection.
