Build checks into every ride
Before riding, carry out the manual’s mechanical check rather than treating silence from the electric drivetrain as proof that everything is ready. Look over the wiring, brakes, frame and suspension, including any sign of leakage.
Continue around the motorcycle: inspect the battery and cooling system, then check chain tension and wear, sprockets, tyres, spokes and wheel play. A short routine is easier to maintain when you follow the same order each time.
Cleaning is required after every ride. Once the dirt is removed, faults and wear are easier to spot. Lubricate the chain and docking-station release both before and after riding, and bleed the fork with it fully extended after each session.
Do not miss the early service points
The break-in oil must be changed at 5 hours. This first interval arrives quickly, so record operating hours from the beginning rather than waiting until the bike feels as though it needs attention.
At 15 hours or 12 months, the schedule calls for a fork-oil change. The shock and linkage bearings must also be cleaned and lubricated at that point.
Time and riding hours work together in the schedule. A lightly used motorcycle can still reach the 12-month limit before accumulating the stated hours, so calendar reminders matter as much as the hour display.
Plan the 40- and 80-hour work
At 40 hours or 12 months, the fork and shock require service and the gear oil must be changed. Booking this work in advance helps avoid losing riding time when the interval arrives during the season.
At 80 hours or 12 months, a workshop must inspect the motor gears and bearings. This is not an invitation to open the motor at home; workshop-labelled procedures belong with a qualified technician.
Keep a simple record of dates, operating hours and completed jobs. It makes the next due item clear and gives the technician useful context when the motorcycle comes in.
Annual work and severe use
Brake fluid and coolant are both scheduled for replacement every year. These annual items remain necessary even if your riding-hour total is low.
Inspect earlier after severe use, an impact, or whenever you notice play, leakage or an unusual noise. The published intervals are not a reason to continue riding a motorcycle that is showing a problem.
